SUSTAINABILITY
Conscious Materials
Where possible, Alex will recycle and repurpose materials to use within her artworks or as part of artwork packaging. This is linked with her ethos to avoid waste and promote a more conscious approach to being an artist. Please refer to each artwork description for details regarding repurposed information.
Alex can also incorporate a conscious approach to workshops and events. Including but not limited to:

What materials do you use to create your art?
Alex creates her original paintings using a mix of media, but they are usually acrylic paint based with the addition of oil pastels. Alex also occasionally uses collage, ink and repurposed materials to add texture such as cement, tape and papers.
Original paintings are produced on canvas, paper or gesso primed board. Please refer to artwork listing for material details.
Digital illustrations and art print designs are produced from hand-drawn sketches and transformed through Procreate and Photoshop.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
All packaging used for artwork shipment will be recyclable and/or biodegradable. Alex favours reusing packaging where possible, so please note your order may come with re-used cardboard, but it does not make it any less valuable.

A5 & A4 art prints are sent in cardboard backed envelopes while A3 prints are sent rolled in a sturdy, cardboard triangular prism.

All artworks up to A3 in size are presented in a biodegradable plastic sleeve for additional protection. Made from corn starch, please compost.

The branded stickers used on envelopes are recyclable, please keep them attached to the cardboard for recycling.

Larger artworks will be rolled in a cardboard tube or flat packed in cardboard with biodegradable or recycled protective bubble-wrap.
Contributing to Charity
Since 2020, Alex has donated yearly to the non-profit reforestation charity One Tree Planted, pledging to plant one tree for every artwork and ticket sale.

At the end of the financial year, Alex totals sales across fine art prints, originals, commissions and ticketed events, donating £1 from every sale.

To plant one tree, it costs $1 (USD) so Alex will price convert at the time of donation and round up to the nearest dollar to produce the final figure.

Previously Alex also donated 10% from commissions and original artworks to a charity of the clients' choice. Alex has paused this initiative for now, however hopes to re-start in future and is open to charity collaboration.
DELIVERY

Shipping
All of the artworks are sent via a tracked and signed for service. Once payment has been received, Alex will package and despatch the artwork as soon as possible and will aim to get your artwork to you within 7 working days of purchase. Please get in touch if you'd like to receive your piece by a certain date and Alex will do her best to get it to you in time.
Please note that the standard shipping rates are usually insured up to a basic amount. If you would like to opt for a fully insured service, please contact Alex before or after purchase and she can provide a quote and upgrade your shipment to include full insurance for an additional fee. If you don't contact Alex within 24 hours of purchase, your work will be sent on our standard service. Alex will ensure artwork is appropriately packaged for safe transit and is not responsible for any damages caused in transit from the provider.
Once despatched, you will receive a tracking number so you can follow its progress. We would recommend that you are home to receive your delivery as a signature is required. If you'd like to change your delivery address after you've placed the order (e.g. to an office address where someone is there to sign), then please email alexpeterkenart@hotmail.com
Fine Art Prints Unframed:
£5 UK shipping & £15 Worldwide shipping. Please allow 2-3 working days for dispatch of your print.
UK delivery will be sent via Royal Mail Signed For 2nd Class & International Tracked service for Worldwide destinations. Your order should arrive between 3 and 5 working days of dispatch, but please allow up to 10 days due to seasonal service.
Original Artworks Unframed:
£5 UK shipping & £15 Worldwide shipping Please allow 3-5 days for dispatch of your artwork.
UK delivery will be sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 with Signature & International Tracked service for Worldwide destinations. For extra large artworks, Alex may need to book a direct courier service but will contact you to make you aware prior to delivery. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
Commissioned/Bespoke/Framed Artworks:
UK & Worldwide shipping is calculated as part of the commission quote on a case-by-case basis. The price varies as each commission is unique in size, weight and timings. The commissions will be sent via Royal Mail courier service or via MyHermes dependent on circumstances and framing. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. This is in addition to creation time.
Studio Collection
Please note that London based clients are also able to collect their artwork from Alex for free. You can simply click "collect artwork" at check-out and then please e-mail Alex to arrange a time. The studio location is in Highams Park (E4 9JQ) and Alex will send you the full address once the artwork has been purchased.

Import Duties
Please note that if you are purchasing from outside of the UK, then additional import duties may apply (usually around 5% of the value of the artwork). These are at the cost of the buyer and will be charged to you by the shipped upon import. If the duties are not paid on time and the work is returned to us, then it is at the cost of the buyer to have the work shipped to you again. For any questions about import please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Packaging
Where possible, Alex will try to flat pack your artwork to prevent curling, including for large artworks. If your artwork is deemed safe to roll, we will do so to protect it during transit and post it within a tube.
If your artwork is received in a tube, we recommend removing it from the tube as soon as possible, to prevent curling.
Prior to despatch, the artwork will have been varnished to protect the paint (if applicable) and signed by Alex. All artworks are accompanied by certificates of authenticity which are signed by Alex and dated.
Looking After Your Artwork

Remove your artwork from its packaging carefully to avoid damage.

Never display any artwork or art prints in strong sunlight.

Prolong the life of your artwork by framing it as soon as possible and use UV protected glass or Perspex when available.

Please be advised by a professional art framer if you are unsure how to frame the artwork.
PAYMENT
The website accepts various methods of secure payments including Paypal so to make all artworks as accessible as possible.
Alex can also arrange standing orders for commissioned artworks. Please contact Alex with any further questions and to discuss payment options.
A 50% first payment will be required to confirm art commissions, event painting and workshop bookings.
RETURNS
Refund Policy
Alex does not accept refunds or returns unless the artwork is damaged or faulty (Alex is not liable for damage caused in-transit).
Please inspect your order upon receiving and contact Alex immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
To start a return, please use the Contact form. If your return is accepted, we will issue a refund to the debited account. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or alternative payment method to process the refund too.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
We unfortunately do not offer exchanges.
If you have changed your mind after purchasing and would like to swap for a different artwork, please contact us immediately and we will try our best to update the order.
